Harvest Rogation Sundays

As gardens begin to overflow and fields begin to yield their harvest, Our Saviors Lutheran Church is inviting everyone to share God's abundance with our neighbors.

Beginning this weekend, August 8 & 9, and continuing through the months of August, September, and October, we will celebrate Harvest Rogation Sundays.

For centuries, Christians observed Rogation by praying for God's blessing upon the fields and harvest. This year, we are giving thanks for those blessings by sharing them.

Each weekend, we invite you to bring fresh vegetables, fruits, herbs, or other garden produce as an additional offering during worship. A basket will be available near the altar for these gifts.

Following worship, everything will be cleaned, sorted, and added to the OSL Food & Pet Pantry, where it will be shared with families in our community during Friday distribution.

Whether it's a handful of tomatoes, extra zucchini, fresh cucumbers, sweet corn, peppers, apples, or anything your garden has generously produced, every gift becomes a blessing for someone else.

As Jesus reminds us:

"For I was hungry and you gave me food..." — Matthew 25:35

God's harvest is meant to be shared.

We hope you'll join us as we turn the fruits of our gardens into an offering of love for our neighbors.
