Here at OSL, we have faith-building opportunities for all ages that come in many formats. There is something here for everyone! Growing in faith happens at times like with a traditional bible study and faith milestones for our kids, to a men's breakfast and podcasts for people on the go.
Everyone's faith journey is unique to them. Everyone's connection to their faith is different. If you are new to the Lutheran faith or if you are comfortable in where you are in your faith, there is something here for you. Take a minute to find an opportunity that can help you grow your faith.
We believe that being engaged in your faith is sometimes done best outside the walls of the church. OSL supports both congregational and community ministries. If you want to talk to someone more about any of these options, please contact Pastor Doug.
For all activities, if the Council Bluffs Community Schools cancel or have a late start, we will be closed that day and/or evening. Please check for updates via email, social media, and local television.
We believe we are saved by grace alone—not by what we do, but by what God has already done in Jesus Christ. That freedom doesn’t lead us to sit still; it sends us out.
We volunteer not to earn God’s favor, but because we already have it. Freed by grace, we are called to love our neighbors, especially those who are hurting, overlooked, or pushed to the margins. In our serving, we live out our baptismal promise to care for others and work for justice and peace in all the earth.
God is already at work in the world—and through volunteering, we get to join in. Whether we’re feeding the hungry, mentoring youth, rebuilding after disaster, or simply showing up, our hands become signs of God’s mercy, hope, and compassion.
We volunteer because faith is lived, not just spoken. This is what it means to be Lutheran: saved by grace, freed to serve, and sent into the world for the sake of our neighbor.
